Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani
One of India's most respected pioneers in the Real Estate sector, Founder and MD of Hiranandani Constructions, he was the first to spot an opportunity in the mid-80's for high quality value housing in Mumbai's Powai and has since transformed the architectural landscape of Mumbai. He acquired 250 acres of quarry land and transformed it into the country’s first self-contained township heralding the walk-to-work concept. The rest as they say, is history. The Hiranandani Group's journey of growth from one path-breaking project in Powai, to Thane, to now Panvel and thereon to other sectors like Energy and Data Centres - is an inspirational tale of building a business, literally, "one-brick-at-a time" ! Starting with a team of 11 people and growing to over 1500, Niranjan Hiranandani knows what it takes to transform a family-run business to a professionally-run, family-owned business.
He is a market maven, a member of the Bombay Stock Exchange and one of the most successful investors in India. With a keen eye on spotting growth opportunities that deliver market leading returns, he believes in investing for the long term. As the Chairman of Avenue Supermarts, the holding company of D-Mart - the retail chain that scaled up from 1 Store in 2002, to a multi-billion dollar valuation, after IPO-ing in 2017, and 200 profitable stores nation-wide today - there is possibly no one better who understands the journey of an ambitious company, and the challenges and role of the capital markets - to enable growth in a very competitive market in India.

An IITian and a path-breaking entrepreneur and founder of a company that is paving the way for India to go green in giant strides. He saw a huge potential in the booming construction industry of India, where the demand for development is greater than the supply, and decided to innovate the way homes are made. The result was Magicrete, which is India’s leading manufacturer of AAC bricks, light weight concrete blocks and other green building materials. The company touched a 100 cr turnover within the first 3 years of operation, was invested by Motilal Oswal Group, and has most recently gone on to win the Global Housing Technology Challenge organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs – building 1000 homes in 12 months with MagicPOD technology.
He is the Co-Founder and ED of Fourth Partner Energy –India’s largest distributed solar platform managing power requirements for over 100 marquee C&I clients. The company’s disruptive lease and ownership-based business model, and it’s investment attractiveness have led a quick growth in a short span of 9-years and are targeting to close FY20 with over USD100mn in revenues. Prior to starting the Fourth Partner Energy, he was Founding Partner at Avigo Capital, an Indian SME focused PE fund managing $375 million.
Samir has 25-years of rich experience in research, strategy and transformation consulting in India, Asia, Middle East, Singapore, UK and the US. He currently leads the Advantage program of Wadhwani Foundation focused on small and medium enterprises, helping the SMEs scale up 2-5X to be able to create jobs. Wadhwani Foundation is a global philanthropic organisation, active in 20 countries. Its mission is to create jobs and change lives.
The president of Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce and Association of Multimodal Transport Operators of India (AMTOI). He is also the founder of ATC Global Logistics – a leading service provider of Logistics International service. His company has a Pan-India presence with a global network of associates. He currently holds active directorship of 12 companies and passionately pursues the cause of Empowerment of Family Businesses on the forums of Associations and Chambers of Commerce.
An IndusGuru consultant, founder and angel investor of multiple ventures. Prior to becoming a consultant, he was part of Procter and Gamble, WNS and Inventurus where he was responsible for setting up various verticals and managing full P&L for brands and verticals. He has helped develop and lead the Investment thesis and business plan models for Online Video, Digital Media Education and Urban Entertainment during his time in Zodius. Currently, he is partner at Zodius Fund with investments across multiple industries, he runs Agate Business Services - a services company catering to BPO / KPO and Technology clients globally, and has recently launched a media company, Rainshine Entertainment – a global entertainment company that creates content for global audiences.
